After several years as a successful, self-taught watercolorist, Nigel decided, in his 30’s to go back into full time education. He completed his degree in Visual Arts at Cheltenham College gaining a 1st Class Honours and after completing his PGCE at Roehampton embarked on a teaching career. After almost 30 years of teaching, including 25 years Art teaching within the renowned Art Department of Headington School, Oxford, Nigel has now retired to spend more time developing his own practice.

Nigel has always had a particular interest in both Natural and Built environments and has pursued this in his extensive travels over the years. In his own practice he prefers to use a range of media, including oils, watercolour, mixed media and his passion for photography, especially analogue, film based media, to interpret and explore emotive responses to these surroundings.

Over the years Nigel has exhibited widely in galleries in Oxford and other regions of the UK, including solo exhibitions in Berkshire and Wiltshire. His work is now in a number of private collections in the UK, USA, France and Africa.
